JAKE'S BIOGRAPHY
Jake Lipiec is a Drummer and Producer based in London.
With over 15 years of performance experience, Jake has toured, musically directed and recorded worldwide for an array of both up-and-coming and established artists.
Jake’s vast and eclectic interest in all music has curated a versatile and distinctive performer. A specific love of early hip-hop, breakbeat and sampling culture fuels the sound of his work.
Forever inspired by electronics and electronic music, sonics play a big part in his approach to the drum kit. Jake’s back catalogue spans raw and acoustic, through to heavily processed.
Currently, Jake has a private studio in North London where he records and produces drum tracks as Remote Sessions.
In the summer of 2016, Jake was awarded the prestigious Zildjian Prize in Performance, presented at his graduation from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) by the team at Zildjian and Sir Paul McCartney.
Fresh out of university and straight onto the circuit, Jake’s portfolio grew from local concerts to international tours, radio and TV. Highlights recall both Montreal and Montreux Jazz festivals (in support of Ms. Lauryn Hill), Newport Folk and Bonnaroo – the latter being a particular standout, with Jake having the opportunity to join Wilco as the backing band for a special performance in tribute to Tom Petty, featuring Sheryl Crow, Hayley Williams and Justin Vernon, to name a few.

On making the move to London, Jake set up a private studio in response to the growing demand for his recorded work. Recognising both production and performance equally, he struck upon his uniquely hybrid service, delivering mix-ready, fully produced drums, with additional sound design and production elements. Sampling and sample culture inform this approach, paired with the desire to fully realise an idea – from recording, to processing, up to the final mix stage.
In the early months of 2020, King Hannah, a project Jake had been passionately involved with for many years, signed with City Slang Records and released their debut EP, ‘Tell Me Your Mind And I’ll Tell You Mine’, which has gained much critical acclaim. The following year was spent writing and recording the band’s first full-length album, entitled, ‘I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me’.
In 2021, as live performances resumed out of the pandemic, King Hannah announced their exciting touring schedule, and Jake has since been gigging extensively.
Most recently Jake joined the Istanbul Agop family.
